Part 4: Leaf Decoration Brushes

One way to elevate your lettering work is to add leaf decorations.

This set includes pre-made paths for your leaf decorations. Inspired by swashes and flourishes, using these Leaf Stems will give your leaf illustrations a graceful look and feel.

These stamps are designed with multiple swashes and flourishes which you may not always need. You can erase the excess curves or add more swashes to fit your composition perfectly.

Pre-designed leaf scroll illustrations are also available. These leaf scroll stamps are perfect if you'd like to add decorations to your work in just simple taps.

This set allows you to add your leaves one at a time giving you the freedom to size and space each leaf your way.

These leaf stamps are designed to follow the direction of your apple pencil, so just point your apple pencil to the desired direction and tap along the stem to build your unique leaf decorations.

Pressure slightly affects the size of the leaf, so the harder you press, the bigger the leaf will be. This feature allows you to draw more natural-looking leaves.

How to Use:

Watch the video and follow the step-by-step instructions below.

Step 1

Select a Leaf Stem brush and stamp it on a new layer. (You can skip this step if you don’t need a stem for your decorations)

Step 2

Erase the parts of the stem you don’t need (or add more if needed).

Step 3

Select your first leaf shape brush, adjust the brush size to your liking, then add your first leaf.

Make sure to tap on the end of the stem, pointing your apple pencil towards the direction you want your leaf to have

(Adding leaves will require some practice to get it right. It also helps to hold your Apple Pencil almost upright to have better control of where the leaf will be added)

Step 4

Add the rest of the leaves to the stem.

Step 5

This step is optional, but you can try combining different leaf designs to your stem for a more interesting finish.

Step 6

Finish off your leaf decorations by drawing details to add depth. (You can use the Nic Detail Brush for this step)
