Tokyo Junk Canvas No. 3 is a green and teal-toned mixed-media canvas made with collected paper pieces, printed ephemera, and visual fragments from my trip to Japan.
This piece has an earthy-bright feel, with layers of green, teal, cream, red-orange, yellow, and small illustrated details. It feels a little calmer than the others, but still full of movement, like a quiet corner of a busy trip where every scrap of paper still has a story.
Japan is full of visual surprises, from signage and packaging to printed paper, labels, illustrations, patterns, and everyday details that somehow feel beautiful even in their randomness. I originally collected these pieces for junk journaling, but instead of keeping everything tucked away inside a notebook, I wanted to turn them into something that could be displayed and enjoyed every day.
From a distance, it adds a fresh, colorful accent to a quiet wall. Up close, it becomes a tiny world of layered textures, torn edges, printed details, and memories from Japan.
This piece is perfect for adding a playful, travel-inspired detail to your desk, shelf, gallery wall, creative corner, or journaling space.
